Messari API alternative after the Blockworks acquisition
Blockworks announced its acquisition of Messari on 12 June 2026. messari.io now redirects to Blockworks, and Messari's documentation says the legacy API is in maintenance mode: new integrations should use the Blockworks API. Messari's strength was always fundamentals (research, token unlocks, fundraising, on-chain metrics) more than trading data. If you're migrating anyway, it's worth deciding which half of that you need.
We build Crypto Data API, so read this as a vendor's comparison. Every competitor fact below comes from that provider's own pricing or documentation pages, linked under Sources, as of 2026-11-04. Prices and limits change, so check their site before you buy. If we got something wrong, email [email protected] and we'll fix it.
Which one should you use?
you rely on Messari's research, fundraising and M&A data, treasury-company data, mindshare and sentiment, or the Snowflake datashare.
you mainly used price, funding, open-interest or ETF-flow data for trading or an agent, and want published self-serve prices and liquidation data Messari didn't carry.

What we replace and what we don't
We replace: funding, open interest, ETF flows, prices and market data for trading systems, and we add liquidations and Hyperliquid positioning that Messari didn't carry.
We don't replace: research reports, fundraising and M&A, treasury-company data or analyst-verified developments. For those, the Blockworks API is the natural successor.
